Privacy Policy

• We collect nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no telemetry and no backend that receives data from our software.
• Everything our software stores lives on your own devices, or on storage and servers you control.
• Credentials and access tokens are kept locally — in your device Keychain, or in the data directory of software running on your own machine.
• The only outbound connections are to services you have chosen to connect, and they are listed below product by product.
• We cannot see what you watch, what you store or whether you use our software at all.

Nothing. NiFTyLife, LLC operates no service that receives data from our software. We do not collect personal information, usage data, device identifiers, crash reports, viewing history, library contents or IP addresses, because there is nowhere for that data to go.

Aggregate App Store sales and download figures from Apple are the only information we ever receive about usage, and they identify no individual.

• No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising and no cookies set by us.
• The site is served by a hosting provider that keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability. We do not use them to build any profile of you.
• Pages load fonts and icon sets from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google when you visit. That request is subject to Google's privacy policy.
• Links out to Discord and other services are ordinary links; following one puts you under that service's policy.

ApexPlayer runs entirely on your device. Everything below stays there, and deleting the app removes it.

Server credentials

Passwords and access tokens for servers you add are stored in the iOS/tvOS Keychain, scoped to your user profile, and sent only to the server they belong to.

Library cache

Titles, artwork, descriptions and similar metadata fetched from your server so browsing is fast. A copy of your own server's data.

Playback state

Resume positions, watched status and favorites — also reported to your media server, which is what keeps them consistent across your other clients.

Settings

Your preferences. If iCloud sync is on (it is by default) these synchronise through your own iCloud account using Apple's key-value storage. We have no access to that and cannot read it. Credentials are Keychain items and are not included.

Diagnostics

Off by default. When enabled, uncaught exception details are written to your device's own system log. Nothing is transmitted — reading it requires physical access to the device.

ApexPlayer connects to your own media servers, to plex.tv if you sign in to Plex, and to OpenSubtitles if you search for subtitles. Local network discovery broadcasts a short message on your LAN to find servers that answer; it contains no personal information and never leaves your network.

ApexFeeder runs on your machine. We never see it running, and it reports nothing to us.

Its data directory

The catalogue database, cached artwork and any cached subtitles live in its own data directory (~/.apexfeeder by default). Nothing is ever written into your media folders or cloud drives.

Cloud access tokens

If you connect Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive, the resulting access is read-only and the tokens are stored locally by ApexFeeder. They never reach us, and you can revoke them from the provider at any time.

TMDB lookups

To identify media, ApexFeeder sends title and year information parsed from your filenames to The Movie Database. It does not send your file paths, your library contents as a whole, or anything identifying you.

Paired devices

The name and address of each device you pair, so you can recognise and revoke them.

Network announcements

When bound to a network interface, ApexFeeder advertises itself locally so players can find it. The announcement carries a server id, name and version — nothing about your library — and routers do not forward it.

Each of these is governed by that company's own privacy policy. We receive nothing from any of them about you.

Our software is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone — including children — because we do not collect information at all.

• Delete an app and everything it stored on that device goes with it, including Keychain credentials.
• Delete ApexFeeder's data directory and its entire catalogue, artwork cache and pairing records are gone.
• Revoke a cloud connection from Dropbox, Google or Microsoft directly, at any time, without involving us.
• Revoke a paired device from ApexFeeder's settings and its access stops immediately.
• Turn off iCloud sync in ApexPlayer to stop settings leaving the device.
• Because we hold nothing, there is no account to close and no data-deletion request to make of us.

If a future version of any product changes what it stores or connects to, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the "last updated" date will change with it.
